Indonesian SME access to Carrefour shelves
CSR Asia
In Indonesia, small and medium enterprises will soon be able to get their goods on the shelves of retail giant Carrefour without having to pay a listing fee. The retailer has agreed to provide access for SMEs as part of its CSR program. “We will select SMEs with a regular supply capability to sell products that are in line with the tastes of our customers,” said corporate affairs director of Carrefour Indonesia, Irawan D. Kadarman. Indonesia has around 44 million SMEs, representing 98 percent of the country’s business enterprises. I wonder what will be ‘in line’ with the customer taste and if any SME labelling will be used to provide customers with a choice.
